The WIZnet Ethernet HAT is a specialized expansion board designed to bring Ethernet connectivity to the Raspberry Pi Pico, featuring the W5100S chip for network communication. It aligns with the concept of Hardware Attached on Top (HAT), providing a seamless and efficient way to add network capabilities to projects involving the Raspberry Pi Pico. The board's design supports both 3.3V and 5V operation, making it versatile for various applications. Key Features: W5100S Ethernet Controller: Incorporates the W5100S chip, which supports hardwired Internet protocols such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4, ARP, and PPPoE, offering a robust foundation for network communication. Hardware SOCKETs: Supports up to 4 independent hardware SOCKETs simultaneously, enabling multiple network connections. Memory: Features internal 16KB of memory dedicated to TX/RX buffers, facilitating efficient data handling. Voltage Compatibility: Operates on both 3.3V and 5V, with a built-in Low Dropout Regulator (LDO) to ensure stable power supply. SPI Interface: Offers an SPI interface for communication with the main controller, enhancing compatibility and ease of integration. Ethernet PHY: Includes a 10/100 Ethernet PHY with auto-negotiation capabilities, full/half duplex modes, and 10/100 Base-T support for versatile networking options.
