The WIZ550SR is a remarkably compact Serial-to-Ethernet Module developed by WIZnet, designed to facilitate seamless integration of serial communication devices into Ethernet networks. This module stands out for its incredibly small size, measuring just 22mm x 24mm x 13mm, making it one of the smallest modules available that offer such a range of features. Core Components and Interfaces: TCP/IP Chip: It utilizes WIZnet's W5500 chip for network communication, ensuring reliable and efficient handling of network data. MCU: The module is powered by the STM32F103RCT6 from STMicroelectronics, which is based on the Cortex-M3 architecture, offering robust processing capabilities. Connectivity: While it does not include a transformer or RJ45 connector, it supports a 2.00mm pitch pin header type (1x11) for connectivity, accommodating the MDI (Medium Dependent Interface) with TXN, TXP, RXN, RXP signals. Serial Interface Support: The WIZ550SR supports various UART interface options, including RXD, TXD, RTS, CTS, and optional DSR and DTR, with baud rates ranging from 600bps to 230.4kbps. It supports lengths of 8 bits, with parity bits (None, Odd, Even) and stop bits (1 bit, 2 bit), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of serial devices. Additionally, it is designed to support RS-232C interface standards and has plans to support RS-422/485 interfaces, enhancing its versatility. Advanced Features: Debugging and Configuration: It offers a debug UART with default settings of 115200, 8, n, 1, and includes PHY status output for active and link LEDs, as well as status output for TCP connection monitoring. System and Indicator LEDs: The module features a system reset pin, MCU boot mode operation, and an application boot mode operation pin. It also includes indicator LEDs for power and two additional statuses, enhancing its usability.
